In November 2023, we were visited by the CQC (Care Quality Commission), who carried out an inpsection at Old Station surgery on Heanor Road and Kirk Hallam surgery. The inspection looked at all 5 areas (safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led);overall, the practice is rated as requires improvement.
Providing safe, high quality care for our patients is our priority and the CQC recognised areas of good practice. Staff were recognised as working hard despite worforce challenges and were sympathetic to the needs of our patient population, and understood our vision and values, and how to apply them in their work. Furthermore, it was noted that patients were invlolved in making decision about their care and treatments and were provided with appropriate support.
Following the inspection in November we have been taking action to make improvements in the areas recognised. We remain committed to giving both our patients and the CQC confidence in the qulity and safety of our care.
